While I was photographing this bull elk suddenly a wind got up and it started to rain. Quickly the rain turned into snow. On this photo it looks as if the snow was falling gently, but in fact it was a real storm and big snowflakes whipped my face while I was shooting.
Ten minutes later, the sun came out again.
The weather is so amazing in Yellowstone...

I had a similar experience, though I was photographing a bluebird. It was super sunny, and then all of a sudden clouds, and lots of snow. And then it was sunny a few minutes later.
Yellowstone has incredible animals and incredible weather.

Beautiful capture. This perfectly portrays the conditions and atmosphere of Yellowstone. It never snowed while I was there, but it was below freezing every morning (late june) and rained without warning. Great example of what the wildlife have to deal with every year.

Very cool!....and it doesn't surprise me! I have actually camped in Yellowstone...in the summer...and experienced a snowstorm!!! It seems really crazy!
